serious or silly?

While I was mulling over what to do with this space, I began thinking about what I need in my  life.  I used to have much more time for creativity.  I used to stay up late finishing a painting, decoupaging whatever, making a necklace, or writing.  I have gotten away from all of those things in recent years.  I suppose that is why I wanted to blog; I wanted a space to be creative.  I suppose that is why many people have created a blog of their own.

I also started to wonder about the other side of me; the side that has developed over the last five years (coincidentally, my thirties).  The other side is a very serious critical thinker.  I wrestled with the idea of creating a blog that would be more like the blogs I read, or that people I know own, a fun blog.  I began thinking that to not include the serious part of me would be a disservice to the person I have become.  

I started this blog with the idea that I would not care about reader traffic.  It is not my goal to become internet-famous.  I like to share ideas.  I like to read other's ideas.  I like to discuss ideas.  I like to create.  I like to be inspired.  I like do-it-yourself projects.  I am passionate about social issues.  My blog will incorporate all of these parts of me.  

I was particularly inspired by this man yesterday, so much so that I put my camera on record and  recorded a few things.
